Memorial services celebrating the life of William E. Wheeler, 57, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4:30 P.M., Sunday, May 19, 2019, with his brother-in-law, John Trapani officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 2-4:30 P.M., Sunday, prior to the service.

Bill, a 1980 graduate of Newark Catholic High School, died in Bradenton, Florida on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, following a tragic accident at work. He was born in Newark, Ohio on April 11, 1962 to Thomas Wheeler Sr. of Newark, and the late Margaret Patricia (O'Neill) Wheeler.

Bill was currently working with P-Man's Classic Cycles, Bradenton, which specializes in custom cycle painting and restoration. He loved working on motorcycles and enjoyed racing them over the years. Bill enjoyed being outdoors, especially deep-sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He was devoted to his family, and loved to cook for them at their many gatherings. His spaghetti and meatballs were legendary and became his signature dish that he liked to share with everyone.

In addition to his father, Bill is survived by his daughter, Nicole Wheeler (Alejandro Vazquez); three grand-daughters, Isabella, Adalina, and Luna; step-daughter, Alison (Derek) Geller-Howe and their children, Jayce and Violet; step-son, Thomas Hickey; his siblings, Thomas (Barbara) Wheeler Jr., Mary (Ken) Norton, Sherry (John) Trapani, Michael (Patricia) Wheeler; aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Dave "Poodle" Wells and Christopher Wilkins. He will be sadly missed by all.

In addition to his mother, Bill was preceded in death by his infant brother, David Wheeler.
