Private graveside services celebrating the life of William "Bill" K. Saad, 79, of Newark, will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark, with Fr. William Hritsko as celebrant.

Bill, parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at his home on Monday, September 28, 2020.  He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on August 10, 1941, to the late Don and Grace (Payne) Saad.

A 1959 graduate of Newark High School, Bill retired from Ross Laboratories where he worked as the supervisor of shipping and receiving for many years.  He enjoyed rooting for The Ohio State University and Cleveland Browns, but above all, Bill was an avid fan of baseball and the Cincinnati Reds, collecting many baseball cards over the years.

Bill served with the Ohio National Guard and was fascinated with the history of the United States of America, especially the Civil War.  He collected and read countless historical books, and greatly enjoyed visiting these historical sites and battlegrounds.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Sandy (Skeens) Saad; his sons, Kevin (Becca Saad and Scott (Beth) Saad; 5 grandchildren, Luke Saad, Ali (Jared) Jones, Penn, Kennon, and Clara Saad; brother, Richard Saad; sister Karen (Bill) Simonds; sister-in-law Linda Gregg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Don Gregg.
