A Funeral Mass for Tracey Marie Joyce, 51, of Utica, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 25, 2016 with Rev. JCP Sullivan Parish Priest, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Tracey, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio after fighting a long, courageous battle against ALS. She was the beloved wife of Martin J. Joyce and beloved mother of daughters Elizabeth, Christine and Victoria.
Tracey was born in Zanesville, Ohio on October 9, 1964 and grew up in New Lexington, Ohio. She was the daughter of John D. and Maureen (Dunn) King. Tracey worked at Licking Memorial Women's Health and Licking Memorial Hospital for the last 14 years where she was a Radiology Technologist.
Tracey was an active volunteer within the St. Francis de Sales and Newark Catholic Community. She was active in many ministries at St Francis de Sales parish and was also very involved in St. Francis Elementary School and Newark Catholic High School, both attended by her three daughters.
In addition to her husband, Martin, of 21 years, Tracey is survived by their three daughters, Elizabeth, Christine and Victoria Joyce; her parents, John D. and Maureen (Dunn) King; brothers, Christopher (Elizabeth) King of Edina, MN, Philip (Lacee) King of Lancaster, OH, and sister, Carrie (AJ) Lepi, of Alexandria, OH; mother-in-law, Bernadine Joyce (Charles) Kelso of Waverly; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Leah Ann) Joyce of Lucasville, Brian (Cecilia) Joyce of Martinsville, and sister-in-law, Mary Ann (William) Reinhart of Blanchester; her beloved nieces and nephews, Catherine, John and Michael King, McKenzy and Corey King, Joseph, Davis and Anna Lepi, William and Michael Joyce and Matthew and Samuel Reinhart; and her special caregiver Brittany Church, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Tracey was preceded in death by her grandparents Arthur and Marie Dunn, Pearl and John W. King; father-in-law William J. Joyce; uncles Rodney King, Clarence King, David Shonk; and aunt, Rose Lattimer.
Tracey was an incredible person with a strong faith. She was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her courage, spirit, grace and determination were ever present, even as she faced challenge after challenge with ALS.
Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 2-6 P.M., Sunday, April 24, 2016 where a Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 P.M.
