Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Thomas Leroy Sigrist, 74, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 16, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Tom, a United States Navy Veteran, died at his home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on July 13, 1939 to the late Herman and Ann (Mehling) Sigrist.

Tom worked as a supervisor for many years at the Newark Air Force Base and retired from Boeing. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Newark Moose Lodge, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas M. Sigrist of Newark, and Dr. Stephen and Michelle Sigrist of Carrollton, Virginia; his grandchildren, Alex, Rachel, Xavier, Giselle and Emma Grace Sigrist; his brother and sister-in-law, Vince and Rita Sigrist of Zanesville; his sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Bradley, Doris Emmert, both of Zanesville, Lucy Gribben of Roanoke, Virginia, and Judy Bauerbach of Vienna, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews

Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Lois E. (Sciance) Sigrist; his brother, Kenny H. (Betty) Sigrist; and his brother-in-law, Ed Emmert.
