A Funeral Mass for Tamara Sue "Tammy" (Giles) Life, 58, of Columbus, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 27, 2017, with Fr. Bill Arnold as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.
Tammy died at her home on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, with her loving husband and sister at her side, following a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Newark, Ohio on February 22, 1959 to the late William J. and Louise (Hysong) Giles Jr.
Tammy, a 1977 Newark Catholic High School graduate, was a passionate Notre Dame Football fan. As an active community supporter, Tammy was a founding member of the Whitehall Citizens Police Academy and former member of the Whitehall Community Emergency Response Team, and was an active member of several local clubs and associations with her husband, Marc.
For many years, Tammy worked in the banking industry and was most recently employed in customer service at Zulily where she worked until April 2017.
Tammy loved spending time with her family and friends, always ready to greet them with her infectious smile and sweet spirit. She will be greatly missed by the love of her life, best friend and husband, Marcus Life; her sister, Sharon A. Giles; her brother, William J. Giles (Linette); sister-in-law, Connie Giles; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rudy (Sandy) Life; sister-in-law, Melinda Euton (Charles); nieces and nephews, Bridget (Helder) Delgado, Jessica (Megan) Ralston- Henry; Kelly (Rod) Runkel, and Tressia (Josh) Hicks, Megan, Madison, and Connor Euton; great-niece, Bianca; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her faithful dog companions, Sierra Marie and Rylee O'Quinn.
In addition to her parents, Tammy was preceded in death by her brother, Dean E. Giles; maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 3-6 P.M., Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 5:30 P.M., Sunday.
