Calling hours and military honors celebrating the life of Steven R. Lawhorn, 63, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark; 6-8 P.M, Wednesday, March 15, 2023, with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance at 8 P.M.

Steven died at the Cleveland Clinic on Wednesday, February 28, 2023. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on February 14, 1960, to the late Robert H. and Rosemary F. (Bresnahan) Lawhorn.

A graduate of Licking Valley High School, Steven served with the United States Air Force, acquiring skills that would lead him to a variety of occupations throughout his life. Currently, Steven was working in property maintenance at the Londondale Parkway Apartments.

Steven was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending his time finding new places to drop a fishing line. He also enjoyed working with electronics and cars and had quite a collection of Hot Wheels.

He is survived by his son, Brian Lawhorn (Kelly Akers); grandsons, Levi and Kane; extended family, Krista Obi, Cynamon, Dyamond, Kasmyn, and Danya Iden; siblings, Mark (Connie) Lawhorn and Janet Harble; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his sisters, Deborah Ford and Karen Forgey.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
