Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Stanley W. Coffman, 93, of Newark, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 22, 2018, with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant.

Stan, a lifelong parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was born in Newark, Ohio on October 16, 1925 to the late William and Kathryn (Gruber) Coffman.

Retired from Owens Corning, Stan worked as a pipefitter for 44 years and was a member of the Pipefitters Union and the Owens 25 Year Club.

Stan was dedicated to his family, especially his late wife, Jean. He was a good listener and always willing to lend a hand when needed. Known by my many as a "Mr. Fix-It", Stan had the ability to fix anything and everything. He enjoyed cutting his grass and playing solitaire and euchre. Stan was also a talented woodworker and loved to create birdhouses which were replicas of familiar buildings. At one time, Stan even built a small-scale replica of their family home, handcrafting all of the furniture and interiors to the finest detail.

His gentle and kind nature will be greatly missed by his son, Gregory (Gayle) Coffman; daughters, Linda (Elbert) Holmberg, Lori (Ray) Cooksey, and Cassie (Guy) Manos; 9 grandchildren, Zachary and Kathryn Coffman, Ashley (Betty) Holmberg-Cameron, Haley (Brian) Regan, Lindsay (Andy) Frost, Graham (Savanna) Holmberg, Nathan (Patricia) Cooksey, Noah (Alexis) Cooksey, Abbey (Mac) McGuire, and Mallory Manos (fiancé, Joe Lubelski); 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Becky Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his wife, Nevella Jean (Moore) Coffman; grandson, Clayton Manos; and sister, Marie (Jim) McClellan.

Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Friday, December 21, 2018, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Licking County Aging Program, 1058 East Main Street, Newark, Ohio 43055.
