Sandra L. Maransky, 85, longtime resident of Heath, passed away at Brookdale Senior Living, Zanesville, on Thursday, January 20, 2022.  She was born in Hughesville, Pennsylvania on June 3, 1936, to the late Brady Speary and Lillian (Barto) Speary.

Sandra was a loving wife and mother.  She took pride in making her house a home, decorating for every holiday and caring for her family.  She was known for her baking, especially pies and her annual Christmas cookie trays which she shared with her many friends and family.  Sandra was an avid storyteller and amused many with the memories of her youth.  In her early adult life, she became an accomplished china painter creating many beautiful pieces.  She was also a member of the Newark Air Force Base Missilettes.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Jeffery (Cheryl) Maransky; granddaughter, Lauren (Michael) DiBenedetto; and great-grandchildren, Harper and Ethan DiBenedetto; one nephew and several nieces.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Maransky, on December 6, 2020; her sisters-in-law, Marian (John) Rebo and Joan Gray; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph (Genevieve) Maransky.

The family requests memorials in Sandra's name be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055; or to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, where Sandra was a member, 732 Hebron Road, Heath, Ohio 43056.

Private services will be held at REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville, Pennsylvania.
