A Christian Funeral celebrating the life of Sandra "Kay" Bascomb Wolfe, 79, of Newark will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11 A.M., Monday, January 15, 2018 with Pastor Bret Rizzo as celebrant. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery.  Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 5-7 P.M., Sunday, January 14, 2018, and for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Kay went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.  She was born on September 7, 1938 to Nina Brown Lawrence.  A retired homemaker, Kay was an excellent businesswoman who successfully ran her own businesses for years.  She was the former owner of the Club Kno Place in Newark, and the Antler Grill.  She sponsored the Bascomb/Scott Racing Team in the early 1970's under Club Kno Place, where they were very successful.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always putting those she loved first.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and was lovingly called "Grandma Fluff" by her grandchildren. She loved taking care of her home and gardening in her yard. Holidays at her home, were a magical time, with her decorating, baking and cooking skills. Many, often just asked for a pan of her famous "peanut butter fudge" for a gift!  Her laughter, love, voice, hugs, and smile will be missed greatly by those who loved her.

Kay is survived by her three children, sons; Robert Stokes Jr., Richard (Tami) Kincaid, and daughter Karen (Kevin) Howard.  She is the grandmother to Roberta Stokes (Drake Wexzel), Angel (Ryan) Smith, Thomas (Cindi) Stokes, James Stokes, Ryan (Heaven) Kincaid, Jessica Kincaid, Tara Prince, Tahnee Howard, and Austin Howard, along with eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, Kay was preceded in death by her late husband, Melvin Bascomb, who died in an automobile accident in Florida; and then preceded, by her husband, George Wolfe, whom she was married to for 25 wonderful and loving years.  She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Richard Stokes, her sister, JoAnne Bishop; brother, George Lawrence, and her beloved pet Missy.

Alzheimer's may have taken her memories here on earth, but it did not take her love for people, her laughter, humor, smile, or love for anything with blueberries. We know that now, in her forever heavenly home, she is looking down with all her memories, saying her favorite line, "I love it!"
