A Funeral Mass for Sally A. Weisent, 77, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 9:30 A.M., Thursday, July 27, 2017 with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Sally, a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at the Villa Angela Care Center on Saturday, July 22, 2017. She was born in Newark, Ohio on April 3, 1940 to the late Elbert and Imogene (Schonauer) Loughman.
Sally was a 1958 graduate of Newark High School and worked for many years as the office manager of Jack's Septic and Weisent Enterprises, businesses owned/ operated with her husband. She enjoyed reading, golfing, and supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their sporting and school activities.
Over the years, Sally created several cross-stitch artworks and was an avid knitter, having at one time taught knitting to the junior high students at St. Francis de Sales Elementary.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John A. "Jack" Weisent, her children, Christine (Michael) Allen; Jim (Pattie) Weisent, Teresa Weisent (Donny), Lilly (Mike) Roche, and Meredith Weisent; 9 grandchildren, Katie (Patrick), Sarah, Maddie, Tony (Erika), Jack (Kelsey), Adam (Allison), Jessica, Ann, Julia, Meghan, Stella, Andy and Skylar; 8 great-grandchildren, Emilie, Mariah, Acenn, Benjamin, Abreana, Sage, Cora, and Olivia; brother-in-law, William Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline L. Walker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Newark Catholic High School Foundation, 1 Green Wave Drive, Newark, OH 43055.
Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M., Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
