Obituary

Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruth N. Wright, 88, of Newark, will be held at Marne Church, 2 P.M., Monday, June 17, 2024, with Pastor Shyanne Manson as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial in Hanover Cemetery will immediately follow services.

Ruth, a 1953 graduate of Newark High School, died at the Laurels of Heath on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. She was born in Newark, Ohio on November 21, 1935, to the late Roy and Lola Fern (Davis) Nesbit.

Ruth was a longtime devoted member of Marne Church where she volunteered in many capacities, working in all areas of the church which she dearly loved. She had worked in the accounting department at Ohio Power, the Licking County License Bureau and was the deputy registrar at the Licking County Board of Elections. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening and hosting family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Wanda (George) Dible and Sonia (Mark) Henry; 4 grandchildren, Ruth Allie Dible, John George Dible (fiancé, Maddy Christine), Kyle Henry, and Michelle (Stephen) Caswell; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Emily, and Derek Caswell; and sisters-in-law, Sue Wright and Barb Nesbit; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Max A. Wright in 2022; her sister, Mary (Arthur) Hughes; brother, William Nesbit; and brothers-in-law, Tommy (Joanne) Wright, Ralph (Margy) Wright, Jack (Mary Alice) Wright, and Warren (Gloria) Wright.

The family would like to thank Interim Home Health Hospice, especially Lisa Wagner, for their dedicated care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Ruth's name be made to Marne Church, 1019 Licking Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055.
