A Funeral Mass for Ruth M. Shaw, 90, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 11 A.M., Thursday, October 22, 2015, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church for one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday.

Ruth died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was born in Newark, Ohio on August 4, 1925 to the late Alex and Katherine (Blake) Miller.

Ruth, a 1942 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was a member of the Widows & Widowers Group. She worked for many years as a bank teller at the former Central Trust Bank, and enjoyed gathering with friends on the weekends to play scrabble and bridge.

Ruth is survived by her son, Robert Shaw of Columbus; her grandchildren, Ricky (Breanna) Shaw, Ashley Shaw and Amber Shaw; her longtime dear friends and caregivers, Karen Stewart, Erin Magers, Kelsey Wrather, Alexis Magers, and Jennifer Bishop; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Shaw; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard E. and Carol Shaw; her grandson, Brandon Shaw; her brothers, Earl, Ralph, Alfred, and Kenneth Miller; and her sisters, Katherine Moats and Hazel Heft.
