Funeral services with military honors celebrating the life of Robert Thomas Williams, 93, of Newark, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 8, 2025, with Fr. Mike Gentry as celebrant. Calling will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.

Robert, a United States Air Force Veteran, passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Monday, June 30, 2025. He was born in Newark, Ohio on September 24, 1931, to the late Joseph and Beryl (Adams) Williams.

A graduate of Newark High School, Robert was retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked as a mail carrier for the majority of his career.

He is survived by his children, Melinda "Linda" Burns, Rosa (Dave) Dickey, and Dennis (Ginger) Williams; and David Tucker; grandchildren; Ashley, Sam, Kaira, Arika, Joseph, Jeannie, Mandi, Alishia, and Josh; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren (with one more on the way); siblings, Mike Williams, Patrick (Dee) Williams, Timothy Williams, and Dennis (Kathy) Williams; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Sillin) Williams; son, Joseph Williams; 2 grandchildren; Sean Messina and Austin Williams:  and siblings, Mary Geraldine Hall (Robert) Murphy, Joseph (Diddy) Williams, Thomas (Evelyn Ann "Babe") Williams, Marguerite (Earnest) Kettell, Charles (Eileen) Williams, James Williams; Rose Ann (David) Bowers; sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Marcella Williams; and infant brothers, Larry and John Williams.
