Funeral services for Robert D. Stout, 87, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 14, 2015 with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.


Robert, a United States Navy WWII Veteran, died at Kindred Care Center on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. He was born in Homer, Ohio on December 16, 1927 to the late Frank and Gertrude (Smith) Stout.


Robert, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, retired from the Ludlow Corporation and Continental Can in 1983 after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, Newark Elks, Druids and Eagles.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, David Stout, Jeff and Vickie Stout, Steve and Tammie Stout, all of Dallas, Texas, and Paul and Dr. Linda Stout of Fort Collins, Colorado; one grandchild, Steven Stout; step-grandchildren, Kristal Attaway, Blake Leo and Michelle Leo; his brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Katherine Stout of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille A. (McWilliams) Stout; two sisters, Marguerite Stout, Mildred (Stout) Loar; one brother, Forrest; and one grandchild, Kyle Stout.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9-11 A.M., Saturday, March 14, 2015, prior to the funeral service.
