A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Karl Neumeyer, 80, of New Albany, will be held at St. Leonard Catholic Church, 10 A.M., Friday, January 24, 2025, with Fr. Mike Gentry as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Martin of Tours Cemetery, Valley City, OH.
Robert, an active and faithful parishioner of St. Leonard Catholic Church, died at Wesley Woods, New Albany, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He was born in Medina, Ohio on March 26, 1944, to the late George and Dorothy (Kramer) Neumeyer.
A graduate of Buckeye High School, Robert started out his career as a union plumber with Plumber & Steamfitters Local 42. In 1976, Robert moved his family to Heath and began working with the RH Penick Company, retiring in 2006.
Robert was a doting grandfather, father, and husband. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, boating, fishing, and watching his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. He truly enjoyed nature and had a real love of predatory birds.
He will be greatly missed by his children, James (Jill) Neumeyer, Karen (Damian) Hammond, and Mark (Molly) Neumeyer; grandchildren, Olivia Mirmohamed, Ryan Neumeyer, Sophia Mirmohamed, Amelia Neumeyer, Evan Hammond, Ethan Hammond, Jack Neumeyer, and Lila Neumeyer; sister, Rita Hist; brother, David Neumeyer; very special cousins/friends Bill and Kathy Lattig; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Suzanne (Penick) Neumeyer; sister, Pat Neptune; brother-in-law, Kenny Hist; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Guy and Dorothy (Armbruster) Penick.
Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Thursday, January 23, 2025, with a Vigil Service held at 6:30.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Robert's name to LaSertoma Pleasantville or Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
