Robert W. Gray, 97, of Newark, passed away Monday evening, March 12, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Born March 17, 1920 in Newark, Ohio, he was the son of Suzanne O'Farrell and Marion E. Gray. His stepmother was Margaret Gray of Newark.

Bob was a United States World War II Veteran. He was a bombardier in the Army Air Corp and flew 35 missions over Germany. After the war, Bob and his father, Marion E. Gray, and brother, Richard M. Gray, built a successful business known as Gray & Sons TV. Bob's favorite activities were always centered on his family and sporting events at Newark Catholic High School. He also enjoyed mowing grass and taking care of his yard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria P. Gray, whom he married on January 3, 1942. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Carolyn and Dale Romine, Rich and Pam Gray, Barb Gray, and Patt and Dave Willis; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister, Joann Diller; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Sarah Clifton and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Ann McClellan.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Richard M. Gray, and sister, Evelyn Watts.

At his request, there will be no calling hours or memorial services.

The Gray family wishes to give a special "Thank You" to all his caregivers from Arlington Care Center and Hospice of Central Ohio and ask that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
