Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert "Rob" Eugene Wolfle, 53, of Newark, will be held at REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, 1 P.M., Thursday, July 6, 2023, with Deacon Patrick Wilson as celebrant. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 11 – 1 P.M., Thursday, prior to the service. Immediately following services, the family is hosting a Celebration of Life luncheon at The Grove by the River, all are invited to share in fellowship and memories of Rob.
Rob, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 25, 2023. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on April 9, 1970, to John and Marcie (Brennan) Wolfle of Nashport, Ohio. Upon his passing, Rob was able to donate the gift of sight through the Eye Bank.
A 1988 graduate of Licking Valley High School, Rob worked as a property manager at Boeing. Prior to this, Rob worked for many years as a meat cutter at the former Big Bear Stores where he also met his future wife, Katie.
Rob, athletic by nature, played football in high school, hit many homeruns at Mound City Baseball Park, and liked to golf when the time presented. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears, as well as The Ohio State Buckeyes.
He enjoyed gardening, was a Civil War enthusiast, and spent many hours watching John Wayne movies. Rob was also fascinated by ghost stories and always on the lookout for the elusive Big Foot.
In addition to his parents, Rob is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathleen "Katie" (Hermandorfer) Wolfle; his children, Bryce and Bryttany; siblings, Rick Wolfle (Sue Saul), Mary (Mark) Bruns, Tim (Kathy) Wolfle, and Bradley (Kristin) Wolfle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray (Pauline) Hermandorfer; brother-in-law, Chad Hermandorfer; aunts and uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
