A Mass of Christian Burial for Randal James Miller, 69, of Newark, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 20, 2024, with Fr. Anthony Lonzo as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Randy passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. He was born in Newark, Ohio on September 23, 1954, to the late George James and Norma Jean (Francis) Miller.
A 1972 graduate of Newark Catholic High School, Randy was retired from Holophane where he worked for 36 years as a field service technician.
Randy was an awesome brother to his siblings and embraced his role of uncle, always eager to support his nieces and nephews in their many activities. He was intrigued with genealogy and found great interest in learning about his family's history. Randy's hobbies included attending concerts, going to the movies, spending time with his friends and family, as well as watching sports, especially when rooting for Newark Catholic and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his sisters, Pamela (Keith) Morris, Cynthia L. (Carl) Kozak, and Joyce Ann (Alan) Cecutti; sister-in-law, Lydia (Skip) Blessard; nieces and nephews, Stacey Morris, Amy (Anthony) Bango, Kelly (Chris) Barhorst; Kristin Cox, Jordan Miller, Alyssa (Nate) Harris, Cameron (Nicole) Miller, Amber Murphy, Ryan (Mariah) Murphy, Kelsey Murphy, Amanda (Steve) Card, and Megan (Justin) Barry; and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, George E. Miller; and his nephew, Brock A. Cecutti.
Calling will be held at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Friday, January 19, 2024, with a Vigil held at 6:30 P.M. All are encouraged to wear scarlet and grey in support of Randy's love for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Memorials in Randy's name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
