A Funeral Mass for Ralph Joseph "Joe" Finkle, 88, of Newark, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 4, 2015, with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Joe, a United States Army Veteran, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Monday, November 30, 2015. He was born in Newark, Ohio on June 17, 1927 to the late Roland Adam and Gladys (Richards) Finkle.
Joe was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and Franklin University. He was retired from Koppers where he worked for many years as a technical representative. Joe was a longtime parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 721, and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean (Hillbrant) Finkle; his children, Roland Finkle, Arla (Paul) Rabalais, Joseph (Dianna) Finkle, Thomas Finkle, John Finkle, and Susan (Andrew) Sourlis; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard (Margey) Finkle; sister-in-law, Betty Finkle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Finkle; one grandchild; and his brother, Donald Finkle.
Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
