A Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis Irene Williams, 83, of Newark, will be held at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 9, 2024, with Fr. Anthony Lonzo as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Phyllis, a lifelong parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, died at Altercare Newark South on Saturday, August 3, 2024. She was born in Newark, Ohio on August 6, 1940, to the late P.T. "Pete" and Anna Marie (Johnson) Jordan.
A 1958 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, Phyllis was a district manager with Monumental Life for 38 years and an insurance clerk with Park National Bank for 9 years. She was an avid gardener, often sharing her homegrown tomatoes and peppers with friends and co-workers.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 53 years, Timothy Michael Williams, whom she married on June 19, 1971; son, Dennis Jerome Williams; daughter, Sue Michelle (Steven) LaCaprucia; grandchildren, Justin (Lauren) Bunting, Michael Patrick LaCaprucia, and Steven LaCaprucia; great-grandchildren, Anna Marie Bunting, Justin Thomas Bunting Jr., Liam Bunting, Brendon LaCaprucia and Emma Watkins; brother, David (Sharon) Jordan, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Williams; and sister, Barbara Ann (Melvin) Sullivan; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Calling hours will be held at the Reed Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark Ohio, 4-6 P.M., Thursday, August 8, 2024, with a Vigil Service held at 5:30 P.M.
