A Funeral Mass for Patrick William Stasel, 74, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1:30 P.M., Friday, January 17, 2014, with Fr. Bob Penhallurick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Pat died with his family by his side at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Monday, January 13, 2014. He was born in Newark, Ohio on August 27, 1939 to the late Anthony and Dora (Williams) Stasel.

Pat was a 1957 graduate of Newark High School and served in the National Guard. He worked for many years at Newark Asphalt and retired from Kokosing Construction where he was an estimator. Following retirement, Pat worked as a caretaker at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Pat was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was a member of Newark Elks, Moose Lodge, Heath Eagles, and Newark Druids.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Donna (Lusk) Stasel, of the home; his children and their spouses, Mary Beth Jurden, James and Heather Stasel, all of Newark; Karen and Brad Hostetter of Summerfield, NC; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his niece, Connie (Marc) Guthrie; his nephew, Anthony Rine; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 4-8 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Rine.
