A Requiem Mass for Patricia Jane O'Neill, 93, of Newark, will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 584 W. Broad St., Columbus, 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 with Fr. Kevin Lutz as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Newark. Friends and family may call at the church for one hour prior to the Mass.

Patricia died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Sunday, October 21, 2018. She was born in Columbus on April 22, 1925 to Edward and Pauline (Phalen) Smith.

Patricia, a 1943 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, attended the College of St. Mary of the Springs and worked for 15 years in merchandising with Altman and Lord & Taylor. She also served as a poll worker and supported the Dawes Arboretum. Throughout her life, she was dedicated to her faith and especially the First Saturday devotions.

She is survived by two sons, Paul O'Neill Jr. and Edmund S. O'Neill; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. O'Neill Sr.; son, Stephen Francis Xavier O'Neill; daughter, Sr. Patricia Jane Marie S.C.; brothers, Jim (Alma) Smith and Barney Phalen (Rita) Smith.
