Patricia Lee
Berger
Sep 7, 1943 — Apr 29, 2026
Newark
Patricia Lee Berger, 82, of Newark, passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on September 7, 1943, to the late Paul Daniel Sr. and Margaret Alice (Robb) Lebens.
Patricia was a graduate of Wayzata High School, Plymouth, MN, and attended the University of Akron and Stark Technical College. She settled in Newark, Ohio and worked at State Farm Insurance, retiring after 40 years of service. She was known by many for her infectious laugh and great sense of humor, often telling stories with humorous detail.
She enjoyed watching cooking shows and The Incredible Dr. Pol, especially if her cat, Dave, was cuddled up in her lap. She loved visiting Gatlinburg, Tennessee and driving through Cade’s Cove. She shared many luncheons with her friends and daughter, Jill, sometimes visiting for so long they would have to order their next meal. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandson, CJ. The most important thing was Patricia’s faith and her relationship with God.
Patricia will be greatly missed by her son, Christopher Berger; daughter, Jillian (Joseph) Maurer; grandson, Christopher “CJ” Dotson; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Lebens (Gene Hollister) and Lisa (Steve) Buckman; grandchildren, Trenton Berger, Madyson Berger, and Kaycie Wilson; nieces and nephews, David, Bill, Tracey, Candy, Jeremy, Kasey, Michelle, Kiel, and Sarah; and several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Berger; and brothers, Tom Lebens and Paul Lebens Jr.
Calling hours will be held at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 5:30-7:30 P.M., Friday, May 15, 2026, with a Memorial Tribute held at 7:30 P.M., led by Carson Marsh.
