Pamela passed away on November 20, 2022. She was born in Newark, Ohio on June 15, 1956, the third daughter of 6 children to her late parents, Samuel Sawyer and Naomi Vogelsong.
During her youth, Pamela participated in many small-town beauty pageants where she loved to sing each time on stage. This love of singing followed her throughout life as she still loved to sing karaoke, in addition to being with her friends and visit with family.
Pamela also enjoyed traveling, having lived in California, Ohio, and Arizona. While in Arizona, Pamela was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served as chaplain of their local chapter.
She will be missed by her children, Crystal (Ben) Stamper, Tiffany (Phillip) Ayer, Derek Evans (Jessica Hawley) and Brittany Baldauf (Tyler Kast); 11 grandchildren; 2 step-grandsons; 1 great-grandson; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was also a loving sister to her "big sisters" Marsha Gabriel and Barbara Brewer; her "baby sister", Kandy Clemings; and her dear friend, Robert "Van" Hemelryck, with whom her memory will live on.
In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her brothers, Roger and Kenny Sawyer.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pamela can be made St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 40 Granville Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. Condolences for the family can also be mailed to this same address, c/o Crystal Stamper.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Fr. David Sizemore, Karen Walters, Bill McWilliams, Agnes Reed, and several other parishioners of St. Francis de Sales Church for loving our family and tending to us so generously during this time.
