A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Norma Jean Miller, 89, of Newark, will be held privately with her family at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament with Fr. Anthony Lonzo as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Jean, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died on Friday, October 1, 2021. She was born in Licking County, Ohio on July 25, 1932, to the late Earl Simon and Hazel Louise (Gleckler) Francis.
A 1951 graduate of Hanover High School, Jean worked at Seaway for 14 years and Fashion Bug for 27 years. Most recently, she worked at the YMCA as a part-time greeter, a job she thoroughly enjoyed.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, as they were the love of her life. Always active, Jean met monthly to play BINGO with her friends, and loved exercising at the YMCA and Licking County Aging Program, where she also enjoyed line dancing.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Pamela (Keith) Morris, Randal James Miller, Cynthia Louise (Carl) Kozak, and Joyce Ann (Alan) Cecutti; daughter-in-law Lydia Miller; 13 grandchildren, Stacey Morris, Amy (Anthony) Bango, Kelly (Chris) Barhorst; Kristin Cox, Jordan Miller, Alyssa (Nate) Harris, Cameron (Nicole) Miller, Amber Murphy, Ryan (Mariah) Murphy, Kelsey Murphy, Amanda (Steve) Card, Megan (Justin) Barry; and Brock Cecutti; 21 great-grandchildren, Maisey, Nicholas, Elise, Alaina, Tylar, Maya, Olivia, Abigail, George, Avah, Jalen, Ashton, Teagan, Liam, Lennon, Madden, Kendal, Emerie, Maysen, Hudson, and Sawyer; siblings, Raymond Francis; Marilee Bailes, and Deloris (Patrick) Williams; half-brother, Johnny Weiss; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, George James Miller; her son, George Earl Miller; and siblings, Bonnie Mae Kopp, Paul K. Francis, Donald Francis, Richard Francis.
Memorials in Jean's name can be made to St. Vincent DePaul; or the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
