Nancy Messimer Woolard (86) passed away at Tuscany Gardens, Pataskala, Ohio, on Saturday, June 20, 2026. She was born in Washington D. C. on October 26, 1939, to the late LaVerne A. and Rosemary (Martin) Messimer.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Nancy was a career business education teacher with years of instruction at Granville and Heath, Ohio High Schools. The success of her students was the constant theme of her professional life. Having served as Junior Class Advisor she bore fond memories of overseeing the concession stand at Heath High home basketball games with her students and coordinating the annual Senior Prom.

In her private hours, Nancy satisfied the hearts and needs of a loving husband of 61 years and two sons. In her retirement, she contributed time and resources to various charitable organizations, (in particular, the St. Vincent de Paul Center of Newark, Ohio) and enjoyed visiting nursing homes with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Monty.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Jim R. Woolard, sons Martin (Jani) Woolard and Jason (Alyssa) Woolard, granddaughters Madison (Ray) Durham and Morgan (Chase) Reisinger, grandsons Joshua Woolard and Wyatt Woolard, and first cousin Robert Baker.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Nancy will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11 A.M., Friday, June 26, 2026, with Deacon Patrick Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Somerset. Calling will be held at the funeral home, 4-6 P.M. Thursday, June 25, 2026.
