A Mass of Christian Burial for Molly A. Campbell, 82, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 15, 2025, with Fr. Mike Gentry as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.

A parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Molly died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio, surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, February 10, 2025. She was born in Zanesville, Ohio on February 2, 1943, to the late William and Gertrude (Hemphling) Mattingly.

Molly was a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School and worked at Tom's Ice Cream Bowl as a teen. She was retired from the cashier's office at Denison University and had also worked at several auto dealerships and local banks over the years.

Molly was a genuinely kind woman with a welcoming smile. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to sail with her husband, Tom. They sailed on Lake Erie for 38 years visiting many ports. Their son, Scott, sailed with them from the time he was 6 months old until after high school. Together the two also hiked many miles through state and national parks, including every trail within the Smokey Mountains.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 56 years, Thomas K. Campbell; son, Scott Campbell (Morgan Dodd); 4 grandchildren, Hadley, Colin, Rowen and Zenlie; siblings, Michael Mattingly, Jennifer Jones, Lynn (Richard) Brauer, and Timothy (Paula) Mattingly; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn (Pat) McGonagle, Betsy (Jay) Beckman, and Joan E. "Joni" Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Molly was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Donald Jones, Joseph F. Campbell Jr., and Robert C. Campbell.

Friends and family may call at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Friday, February 14, 2025, with a Vigil Service held at 6:30 P.M.
