Funeral services honoring the life of Michael Eugene Pineda, 19, of Heath, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 4-7 P.M., with services held at 6:30 P.M., led by Fr. Tom Gardner.

Michael was born in Bridgeport Connecticut to Miguel Pineda Ruiz and Marcie Morra-Pineda of Heath. He passed away following a tragic fall on April 20, 2026.

A 2024 Heath High School graduate and member of the track and cross-country teams, Michael was currently a student at OSU-Newark studying finance. He was employed with Red Lobster, working as a cook for the past 3 years.

Michael greatly enjoyed running, playing basketball, and gym time. All of these led to his longtime fascination with Nike dunk shoes, of which he had a large collection. He loved listening to music, exploring, parkour and driving his Mitsubishi Lancer about town. Above all, Michael cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Michael will be dearly missed by his parents, Miguel and Marcie; siblings, Zaccheri Morra, Anthony Pineda, and Caleigh Pineda; maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Fortney; paternal grandmother, Maria Trinidad Ruiz Corral; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Warren E. Fortney; and paternal grandfather, Juan Pineda Becerra.
