Michael H. Heskett, 53, of Newark, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Friday, August 11, 2016. He was born in Newark, Ohio on November 15, 1963 to Forest Heskett (Judy) and Jacqueline (Froehlich) Gant.

Michael attended Newark Catholic High School and was a talented woodworker. He worked as a carpenter for many years in the area, and especially enjoyed the time he worked with Bowden Construction.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his wife of 3 years, Diana (Bethards) Heskett, sister, Leanette Long (Jack); step-brother, David Ruton (Arletta); step-sisters, Julie Ruton and Kristin Johnson (Rob); aunts, Nancy Link and Margaret Heskett; many nieces and nephews, and cousins, especially Sandy with whom he was very close; and his faithful dog companion, Buster.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman (Grace) Heskett; maternal grandparents, Leo (Jeannette) Froehlich; and uncles, James Heskett and Harold Link.
