Memorial services celebrating the life of Michael Blaise Fazio, 61, formerly of Newark, will be held via Zoom, 1 P.M., Sunday, September 27, 2020, hosted by Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.

Michael, parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, died at the Inova Fairfax Hospital of Virginia on Sunday, September 20, 2020.  He was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on May 15, 1959, to the late Joseph and Rose (Bauer) Fazio.

Michael worked for over 40 years with Owens Corning Science and Technology, retiring in 2018.   Throughout his career he earned multiple patents and accolades related to the production of fiberglass composites.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, classic cars, traveling and spending time with friends and family. He will be remembered for his kindness, his gentle spirit, his intelligence and wit, his persistence, and above all, his love and dedication to his family, especially his daughter.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Joanna (Benjamin) Brown; step-granddaughter Andie; sisters Conni (Sandy) Gardner and Glady Fazio; brother-in-law, Malcolm Walden; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister Joanna Walden.
