Funeral services celebrating the life of Michael "Mike" Alan Dunn,  71, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 2 P.M. Friday, October 24, 2025, with Rev. Dr. Stephen Swisher as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 12 P.M. Friday, until the time of the service.

Mike, a member of St. John's United Church of Christ (Newark), passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was born in Newark on December 29, 1953, to the late Richard and Lois (Hodge) Dunn.

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Newark High School who attended The Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College. He worked on the Holophane paint line for 25 years, and was also an employee of B&L Motor Freight, the Connelly Craig auction house, and Jeld-Wen. He was an enthusiastic Ohio State fan and an avid band parent, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time at the Columbus Zoo.

Mike will be greatly missed by Cindy, his wife of 44 years, and by his daughters Katherine Michelle and Kimberly Marie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Mike's name be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, Hospice of Central Ohio, or the Columbus Zoo.
