Funeral services for Merris M. Casey, 92, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 with Pastor Dan Fullen as celebrant. Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery.

Merris died at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, January 11, 2015. She was born in Cambridge, OH on January 18, 1923 to the late Frank and Merris (Decros) Collart.

Merris was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed playing daily. She was also a sport enthusiast and loved to watch sporting events on television.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Delbert) Moody, George (Darlene) Casey, Jeffrey (Kim) Casey, and Curt Casey; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Lawrence Collart; her sisters, Helen (Martin) Stock, and Mary Collart; sister-in-law, Jane Collart; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Merris was preceded in death by her husband, George Casey, and her brother, Frank Collart.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11:00-1:00 P.M., Wednesday prior to the funeral service.
