Inurnment will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery at a later date for close family and friends.
Mary, a 1951 graduate of Newark High School, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. She was born in Newark, Ohio on November 18, 1933 to the late Noah C. and Margaret A. (Lane) Sillin.
Mary was the secretary in the Math & Computer Science Department at Denison University where she worked for 36 years. She often commented that her greatest joy while working there was the daily interaction that she had with the students. She was a member of Spring Hills Baptist Church and volunteered at Granville Christian Academy where she dearly loved all the children, especially those in Ceili's class.
The love and devotion Mary held for her family was beyond words. She will be greatly missed by her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years, Robert Williams; son, David Tucker; grandchildren, Joshua Tucker and Regina Akers; great-grandchildren, Owen Tucker, Ceili Tucker, and Brennan Kesler; great-great-granddaughter Addelynn; step-children, Melinda "Linda" Burns, Rosa (Dave) Dickey, and Dennis (Ginger) Williams; 10 step-grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, cousin, Sharon K. Richards; and many nieces and nephews. Mary's passing prayer was for God to watch over and keep safe all of her family as they continue with their life's journey.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by step sons, Joseph and Austin Williams; 2 step grandchildren; special cousin, Myrtle Philip; and dear friend, Marilyn Moore.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M., Friday, September 21, 2018; and from 10-11 A.M. Saturday prior to the funeral service.
