Obituary

Graveside funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Lynn Stoll, 74, of Reynoldsburg, will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark, 11 AM, Friday, February 7, 2025, with Msgr. Paul Enke as celebrant. Calling hours will be held at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 PM Thursday, February 6, 2025, with a Vigil Service held at 6:30 PM.

Mary Lynn, a parishioner of St. Pius Catholic Church, died at Amber Park Senior Living on Monday, January 27, 2025. She was born in Newark, Ohio on January 13, 1951, to the late Oscar and Myra (Ruple) Stoll.

A 1969 graduate of Newark Catholic High School, Mary Lynn attended the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN in 1972. She worked for over 32 years at Mount Carmel East Hospital spending much of this time in the Pre-op and Orthopedic departments.

Mary Lynn's life was fraught with broken bones, amputation, and 60 years dealing with diabetes and its effects. Her determination, will power and strong faith helped her through all of these challenges, as she became a mentor to other amputees, counseling and showing them what a full life on a prosthesis could be: completing the Columbus marathon, riding her horses, and traveling with friends and family. From book club, bible study and her countless visits to the barn, all who knew Mary Lynn loved her positive, outgoing, and generous spirit. A truly remarkable oldest sister and example for us all.

Mary Lynn is survived by her siblings, Lannie, Barry, Les (Kathy), Mark, and Jeffrey Stoll, special friend Gary Green and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her sister Veronica Snow, sister-in-law Kathie Stoll, and nephew Matthew Stoll and many beloved canine companions.

The family would like to thank the tender bedside care Mary Lynn received from Capital City Hospice and her faithful friends Barb and Vicki- also neighbors Cliff and Terry who were invaluable help in her last few years at home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive, Columbus, OH 4323; or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023.
