Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Kathryn "Kay" Roe, 67, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 30, 2019 with Chaplain Jeff Smith as celebrant.

Kay, a 1969 Newark High School graduate, died at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Friday, March 15, 2019. She was born in Newark, Ohio on November 1, 1951 to the late Orville B. and Mary E. (Keaser) Roe.

Kay worked with Mound City Products where she learned the art of upholstery, eventually making it her full-time career. She also provided childcare for many years, and most recently, Kay worked as a caregiver for the elderly.

She is survived by her sister, Anna Waites; and brothers, Fred (Rosalie) Roe and Walter Roe; several nieces and nephews; and many beloved cats.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her half-brother, Floyd Roe.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home 5-7 P.M., Friday, March 29, 2019, and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
