A Funeral Mass for Mary Eileen Kohl, 90, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 14, 2015, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, with Rev. Michael Reis as celebrant. Private inurnment will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Eileen died at Grant Medical Center on Sunday, August 9, 2015. She was born in Greensburg, PA on December 3, 1924 to the late Charles L. and Mary Magdalene (Loney) Mahoney.

Eileen was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also an avid volunteer at St. Francis Elementary and Newark Catholic High School.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Francis J. Kohl, of the home; her sons and daughters-in-law, Tracy and Nancy (Queen) Kohl and Tyler and Julie (Marshall) Kohl, all of Newark; her grandchildren, Carol Booher, Crystal, Brandon, Mara, and Nicholas Kohl; her great grandchildren, Ashton and Malory Booher; nieces Patty Mahoney and Janet Carns, as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins; and special family friend Alecia Pollack.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles (Edith), William, and Richard (Sylvia) Mahoney; and her sister, Helen (Edward) Patterson.

Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M., Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
