A Funeral Mass for Mary Geraldine Hall Murphy, 89, of Newark, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 23, 2015 with Rev. G. Michael Gribble as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Gerry, a 1944 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, died at the Kindred Care and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, September 19, 2015. She was born in Newark, Ohio on August 9, 1926 to the late Joseph and Beryl (Adams) Williams.
Gerry was a lifelong parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament where she was also a member of the Marian Club and helped with the bereavement luncheons for many years. She volunteered as a precinct poll worker and spent many years working BINGO on Hudson Avenue to benefit The Woodlands.
She is survived by her sons, Robert R. (Georgine) Murphy Jr., Michael D. (Donna) Murphy, Richard A. Murphy, Patrick E. (Wendi) Murphy, and John J. Murphy; her daughters, Karen A. (John) Vescio, Pamela F. (Doug) Beeson, Mary D. Murphy, and Susan M. Baughman; 28 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Michael (Marcella) Williams, Robert (Mary E.) Williams, Rose Ann (David) Blowers, Patrick (Dee) Williams, Timothy (Phyllis) Williams, Dennis (Kathy) Williams; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Murphy Sr., her son, Gerald F. Murphy; infant daughter, Ann Murphy; and her siblings, Joseph (Diddy) Williams, Thomas Williams, Marguerite Kittel, Charles Williams, James Williams; her infant brothers, Larry and John Williams; and her 2nd husband, Vernon Hall.
Friends and family may call from 4-8 P.M., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
