Mary Lou (Woolard) Fetter passed away peacefully, Friday, July 25, 2025. Up until the end, she maintained her grace, kindness and strength.

She is a 1963 graduate of Newark High School and went to work at First Federal Bank in downtown Newark, Ohio. After marrying and becoming a mother, Mary Lou was a passionate volunteer for St. Francis de Sales Elementary School for many years. She especially enjoyed working with students in the school library and had many fond memories of her time there.

Mary Lou was born in Newark Ohio on May 1, 1945, to her loving parents who preceded her in death – Bryan and Nellie (Litzinger) Woolard. Her father, Bryan, was a retired policeman for the city of Newark and was also the dog warden for Licking County. Growing up, she lived with her parents and 4 siblings. She is survived by her brother, Jim Woolard, and her sister, Sandy Woolard, and is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Woolard, and brother, Bryan Lee Woolard. Mary Lou had a close and loving relationship with her family and enjoyed lunches together and staying in close contact.

She is survived by her two sons from her former husband, Richard Lee Fetter (deceased); Jeffrey Allen and his wife Kelly (Waldren) Fetter of Newark, and their 2 children, Lita and Sebastian Fetter; and Mark Lee Fetter and his partner Leslie Lenzo of Hanover, Ohio.

Marly Lou loved spending time with her sons more than anything else. Some of their favorite memories include neighborhood bike rides on summer evenings with a stop at their favorite ice cream stand. They also enjoyed making homemade ice cream on the porch and baking apple pies. Summertime was a chance to catch up with family member at the annual Woolard family reunion. She also had several pets over the years including her calico cat, Samantha.

Mary Lou was greatly loved as mother, sister and daughter and will be forever missed.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at Wilson Cemetery, 10 A.M., Saturday, August 23, 2025, with Fr. Tom Gardner as celebrant.
