Graveside funeral services celebrating the life of Mary C. Elliott, 95, of Newark, will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 25, 2022, with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant.

Mary died in Clearwater, Florida at the home of her daughter where she was being cared for on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.  She was born in Lockbourne, Ohio on October 9, 1926, to the late Joseph A. and Mary L. (Rittenhouse) Brown.

She was a member of the Catholic faith and worked as a server and cook at several area restaurants, including the Sparta Restaurant and Bob Evans.  Mary enjoyed working with flowers in her garden, taking road trips, and was an avid bowler.  Above all, Mary was devoted to her family and cherished the time spent with them.

Mary is survived by her children, Sandy (Roy) Shell, Sheila (Guy) Rudisill, Stacey (Kelly) Elliott, Sherman (Amy) Elliott; daughters-in-law, Donna Elliott and Linda (Ben) Elliott-Rogers; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Doc" Elliott; her son, Steve Elliott; and her nine siblings, Helena Young, Christina Rowe, Susan Brandt, Peg Elwood, Tom Brown, Teresa Lapke, Bill Brown, and Pete Brown.

Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-6 P.M., Tuesday, May 24, 2022, with a Vigil Service held at 5:45 P.M.
