A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary "Mickey" Elizabeth Lambert, 100, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10 A.M., Wednesday, July 13, 2022, with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Mickey died at her home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. She was born in Newark, Ohio on July 13, 1921, to the late Franklin David and Anna Mary (Rolf) Rice.
She attended St. Francis de Sales High School and was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and member of their Women's Group. While living in Haines City, Florida, Mickey attended St. Ann's Parish and volunteered with their Altar Rosary Society and Women's Guild. Mickey, a devoted wife of a veteran, was also an avid gardener and loved to spend time outside tending to her yard and gardens.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Karlene K. (Jim) Theisen, Arthur F. Lambert (Ruth Meyer), Patricia Ann (William) Short, and Cynthia Jean (David) Gray; 10 grandchildren, Donna (Buddy), Laura (Wendy), Jason, April (Tristan), Amanda, Jesse (Jessica), Whitney (Nick), Steve (Kate), Scott (Heather), and Amy (Refugio); 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Karl K. Lambert; great-grandson, Jamil Johnson; daughter-in-law, Joann (Kuhn) Lambert; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 5-7 P.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2022, with a Vigil Service held at 6:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Mickey's name be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church; or Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
