Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Jane Dodrill, 88, of Johnstown, will be held at the Johnstown United Methodist Church, 159 S. Main Street, Johnstown, 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2022, with Pastor Matthew P. Van Winkle as officiant. Friends and family may call at the church from 12 Noon – 2 P.M. prior to the service on Saturday. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Green Hill Cemetery where Mary Jane will be laid to rest with her husband, Joe, and son, Kevin.
Mary Jane, a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church, died at Mt. Carmel East Hospital on Saturday, July 23, 2022. She was born in Johnstown, Ohio on November 12, 1933, to the late Charles Emerick and Iva Dell (Barcus) Montgomery.
Mary Jane, a devoted wife, mother, and grandma, worked alongside her husband for many years with Dodrill Racing. Having met her husband while square dancing, Mary Jane always found great joy in dancing and being with her friends. She loved to relax at the pool, and cherished every moment spent with her children and their families.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Paula Dodrill-Evans, Crystal (Jerry) McFellin, and Holly Dodrill; grandchildren, Blake Linger (Samantha) and Natalie (Randy) Whitson; great-grandchild, Ellie Whitson; sister, Karen Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Mary Layman, Virginia Dodrill, and Vicki Dodrill; brother-in-law, Jack (Becky) Dodrill; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Dodrill; son, Kevin Dodrill; sister, Charlene (Don) Hollis; brother, Darwin (Margie) Montgomery, Ralph (Betty) Montgomery, and Paul (Wilda) Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews.
