Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Grace Cole, 96, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 2, 2017 with Fr. William Hritsko as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9:30-11 A.M., Saturday, prior to the funeral service.

Mary died at Kendal at Granville on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. She was born in Newark, Ohio on April 28, 1921 to the late Domenico and Elisa (Testa) DeVito.

Mary was a 1939 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and a charter member of St. Leonard Catholic Church. For many years, Mary enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting with her friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" (Dean) Somerlot; grandchildren, Douglas (Jami) Cole, Jeff (Geri) Cole, Kevin (Holly) Cole, Kelly (Christy) Cole, Shaen (Jessica) Somerlot, Ryan (Mary Clare) Somerlot, and Sarah (Chris) Miller; daughter-in-law, Karen Cole; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pup, Daisy.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her son, Thomas; infant son, Michael; and her siblings, John (Anna) DeVito, Albert (Mary) DeVito Sr., and Lena Cochran.
