Mark Eugene
Owen
Apr 24, 1958 — Jun 10, 2026
Heath
Mark Eugene Owen, 68, of Heath, passed away, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born in Newark, Ohio on April 24, 1958, to the late Leslie Bernard and Selma Rae (Lawrence) Owen.
A 1977 graduate of Newark High School, Mark retired from the paper factory at Owens Corning Fiberlgas after 46 years of service.
A true family man at heart, Mark was most grateful for the many memories made with his wife, daughters and his grandchildren, whom he adored. The times spent dancing with his wife, camping and fishing at Lake Erie, belting out his favorite oldies and country tunes at karaoke, or riding his motorcycle on a Sunday drive, Mark was happiest doing these things with the ones he loved. His family was his everything.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years, Melanie (Wieber) Owen; daughters, Crystal (Jim) Fulk and Amber (Clay) Lattimer; 3 grandchildren, Gavyn Fulk, Caylee Lattimer and Carson Lattimer; sister, Becky Archer (Jim); brother, Dave Owen; nieces and nephews; many special friends; and his faithful canine companion, "Otis".
Calling hours will be held at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 10-11:30 A.M., Saturday, June 13, 2026, with the service beginning at 11:30 A.M., with Pastor David Pennington as celebrant. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Ulery; and brother, Douglas Owen.
In honor of Mark’s beloved stray cat “B.B.” and his former canine companion “Bandit”, donations can be made to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath, Ohio, 43056, with the proceeds going towards the purchase of a bench in Mark’s memory.
