Funeral services celebrating the life of Marianne L. Clapper, 86, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 6:30 P.M., Monday, December 5, 2022, with Deacon John Barbour as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4-6:30 P.M., prior to the funeral service on Monday.  Interment will be held at Greenville Union Cemetery, Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

A parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, Marianne died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.  She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on December 30, 1935, to the late Wilhelm K. and Magarete (Meyer) Zahn.

Marianne worked at Stambaugh's Hardware Store and joined Lowes Home Improvement when they opened in Heath, retiring after 15 years. She was a member of the Licking Memorial Hospital Twig 14 and belonged to a bowling league for many years. She also enjoyed playing cards with her card club and visiting with her family and friends.

Marianne is survived by her son, Michael Clapper; grandchildren, Caitlin, Brittney, and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Gianna, Eden, and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marianne was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Clapper; and her 5 siblings.
