A Funeral Mass for Lucy J. Donahue, 94, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 6, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Calling will be held at the Church for one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday.

Lucy died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Monday, September 1, 2014. She was born in Wallingford, Connecticut on March 5, 1920 to the late John and Stella (Sondey) Pratzon.

Lucy was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was a member of the ARC Club and the Women of St. Francis. She was also an avid supporter of Amnesty International, St. Vincent de Paul, and Heartbeats of Licking County.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen (Peter) Lutz, Patricia (Nathan) Shier, Mary Donahue (Ronald Binz), and Theresa Donahue; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor (Giles) Rae; and her son-in-law, Jochen Mentz.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel F. Donahue in 1991; daughter, Kathleen Mentz; infant son, Tommy Donahue; granddaughter, Seana Shier; brother, Edwin Pratzon; and sister, Helen McWilliams.
