Obituary

Funeral services celebrating the life of Louise "Liz" Virginia Marshall, 100, of Heath, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 11, 2025, with Fr. Fritzner Valcin as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Calling will be held at the funeral home, 4-7 P.M., Thursday, April 10, 2025, with a time of shared stories beginning at 6:30 P.M.

Liz died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was born in Newark, Ohio on February 15, 1925, to the late Domenico and Virginia (Patete) Danese.

Very devoted to her Catholic faith, Liz was a charter member of St. Leonard Catholic Church and was currently attending Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She was a member of the ARC Club, Sunrise Euchre Club and enjoyed visiting the casinos and playing Bingo at Newark Catholic H.S. She was an avid bowler and golfer, and spent many hours crocheting afghans, clothing for her porch goose, and over 2000 hats for The Turban Project.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Delores "Dee" (Ron) Jones and Virginia "Gini" (Greg) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Vickie Marshall; grandchildren, Kimberly (Greg) Branson, Valerie Dillon, Greg (Mandy) Johnson, Heather (Justin) Gibson, Michelle Marshall, Melissa Marshall, and Misti (Tim) Fenneman; great-grandchildren, Gina (Steve) Elliott, Jarren Johnson, Sabo Johnson, Sutton Johnson, Kylie Gibson, Braden Gibson, Kolbie Fenneman, and Kamryn Fenneman; great-great-granddaughter, Sophia Elliott; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Marshall Sr.; her son, Robert E. Marshall Jr., granddaughter, Heidi Johnson; brothers, Frank Danese and John (Ann) Danese; sisters, Mary (Albert) DeVito; Anna (John) DeVito; Margaret Barrett (Reuben) Montgomery, and Carolyn (George) Fackler; and son-in-law, John Salyer.
