Obituary

LOTTISLAVA "LOTTIE" E. WADNER

A Funeral Mass for Lottie E. Wadner, 101, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 24, 2015, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be held in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Lottie died at Arlington Care Center on Thursday, January 21, 2015. She was born in Newark, Ohio on March 11, 1913 to the late Josef and Rosa (Dolenc) Wadner.

She attended Woodside Elementary and was a 1931 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. Following graduation, Lottie began working for Kresge's Department Store. She retired from The Woolworth Company at the age of 68 after working for over 30 years in the downtown and North Newark locations.

Lottie, very devoted to her faith and Mary the Mother of God, was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was an active volunteer and member of the Altar & Rosary Society, Serra Club, Fruit of the Vine Prayer Group, and ARC. She enjoyed spending time at Sunday Social hour talking with other parishioner and also participated in the Community Interfaith Group.

Lottie, the last of her immediate family, is survived by her sister-in-law, Gladys Wadner of Mt. Vernon; special cousin, Pauline (Ray) Stemen of Columbus; and over 50 nieces and nephews with whom she was very close.

In addition to her parents, Lottie was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred (Daisy) and Walter Wadner; and her sisters, Gisela (Harold) Melick and Ottilia (Otto) Baldeschwiler

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 40 Granville St., Newark, OH 43055.
