Funeral services celebrating the life of Loretta Anne Cain, 87, lifelong resident of Newark, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 12 Noon, Friday, September 5, 2025, with Rev. Gladys Davis as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home, 10-12 Noon Friday, prior to the service. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark, will follow services.
Loretta, a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, died at Newark Care and Rehabilitation on Thursday, August 21, 2025. She was born in Newark, Ohio, on November 17, 1938, to the late William and Loretta Antoinette (Ricciardo) Gualtieri.
A graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, Loretta worked at the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, in supply at the Newark Air Force Base, as a secretary at Goodwill, and was a sales associate at Walmart in her retirement. She enjoyed camping and traveling.
She is survived by her children, William Riffle, Patricia (Bob) Day, and Timothy (Lin) Riffle; son-in-law, Kevin (Patricia) Madinger; grandchildren, Russell Miller, Joe (Angela Andrews) Reichardt, Jennifer Miller (Justin Devore), Kelsey (Peter) Jacobson; granddaughter-in-law, Faith Rogers; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Leah, Aubrey, Alexis, Ava, Lucca and Lilli; step great-grandchildren, Tristyn and Michael; siblings, Richard (Sue Ellen) Gualtieri, Tom (Jill) Gualtieri, Jim (Percella) Gualtieri, and Susan Bingham; brother-in-law, Trent Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her fur baby Buddy, husband, Ronald Cain; daughter, Christine Reichardt; daughter-in-law, Dana Riffle; grandson, William Reichardt; brother, Billy Gualtieri; and sister, Jane Wilson.
