A Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian Margaret McGee, 96, of Heath, will be held at St. Leonard Catholic Church, 11 A.M., Saturday, October 8, 2022, with Fr. Bill Hritsko as celebrant.  Calling will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Burial will take place at a later date in Royal Palms Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Florida.

Lillian, died at the Inn at Chapel Grove on Friday, September 30, 2022.  She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 1, 1926, to the late Otto and Anna (Peterman) Ludewig.

Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, who was at the center of family traditions, celebrations, and life. She married her sweetheart, Patrick in 1950 in St. Petersburg, Florida.   In their early years of married life, Lillian served as a Navy wife and lived from Key West to Connecticut. Later, Patrick joined the Merchant Marines, and after raising their children, Lillian was able to join him in traveling throughout the Caribbean and South America including the Amazon River. She traveled extensively with her beloved husband, as well as children and grandchildren whenever possible. She visited 49 of the 50 United States, much of this being done in their Airstream trailer.

Lillian held a great regard for the visually impaired, and earned her certification in braille transcription, dedicating many hours transcribing books and textbooks into braille.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Charles (Bobbi) McGee; and Kathy (Alan) Benton and six grandchildren, Shannon (Kevin), Deborah (Steven), Patrick, Thomas, Charles, and Anna; four great-grandchildren, Margaret, Zachary, Brayden and Simon; and one nephew Paul (Diane), and two grandnieces Jayne (Dan) and Jennifer (Krys).

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick McGee; granddaughter, Brandi Ann McGee; and sister, Elfrieda (Paul) Geisz.
