A celebration of life honoring Lee H. Huff, 94, of Heath, will be held at the family home, 2-4 P.M., Saturday, October 29, 2022.
Lee, a United States Army Air Corps Veteran, died at Altercare of Newark South, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 1, 1928, to the late Leo Roy and Gretchen (Harold) Huff.
A graduate from Evanston Township High School, earning his BA in Business Administration from Benedictine College. He worked in Human Resource Management and also as a Union Negotiator for several companies; retiring from Plus Mark in Greenville, TN. In retirement, Lee taught computer skills at the senior citizen center in Johnson City, TN.
Lee met his wife, Marion, at the age of 19, and two years later they were married. For the next 73 years the two embarked on their life's adventures together, taking many opportunities and supporting each other along the way. Whether they were scuba diving, square dancing or searching amongst antique stores, Lee and Marion were happy doing it together. Lee was an avid collector, from trains, antique coin banks, gnomes and Jack Daniels Memorabilia among the many. He enjoyed restoring Model-A cars and working alongside Marion as they recreated a 1930's authentic general store on their property. In his early years, Lee performed with the 6-Pack band, playing the guitar and banjo, as well as serving as the President of the Glen Ellyn, IL Jaycees.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 73 years, Marion (Cook) Huff; children, Jim (Lou) Huff, Bonnie (Michael) Gardner, Thomas (Patricia) Huff, Kathy (Paul) Desalvo, and Jennifer (Karl) Fisher; 9 grandchildren, Charlotte (Dave) Skov, Jason (Tasia) Gardner, Brian Gardner, Amy (Brent) Gordon, Brooke (Matt) Young, Kristina (Jordan) Miczek, Tyler (Alyse) Nicholson, Danielle Desalvo, and Bill (Kemper) Fisher; 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sydney, Arabella, Jaxon, Vivian, Levi, Anastasia, Alexander, Lana, Leah, and Ruth; and nephews, Guy Huff and Mark Huff.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Nancy) Huff; and niece, Jo-Ann (Ron) Ford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Lee's name be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
